Music Therapists
Amanda Greer, MT-BC
Amanda received her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She completed her internship at Lakemary Center, Inc. in Paola, Kansas, where she provided services to children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders and developmental disabilities. Amanda became a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and joined BSI in 2011. She also has experience working with geriatric adults in a retirement community setting.
Noel Newport, MT-BC
Noel received his Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He completed his internship at Behavior Specialists of Indiana in 2008, where he worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Noel became a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and joined BSI in 2009.
Joanna Ashdown, MT-BC
Joanna received her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She completed her internship at Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia where she provided services to middle school students with developmental disabilities. Joanna became a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and joined BSI in 2009.
Vanessa Quirarte, MT-BC, NMT
Vanessa received her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from University of Evansville, in Evansville, Indiana. She completed her internship at Mobile Music Therapy Services of Orange County in Garden Grove, California, where she provided services to individuals with psychiatric disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the geriatric population. Prior to joining BSI, Vanessa provided music therapy services at a day services center for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Vanessa became a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and joined BSI in 2011. She also completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy in 2011.
