Debra Farrar-Schneider, Ph.D., HSPP, BCBA, RBC
Executive Director
Dr. Farrar-Schneider is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and has her primary certification in TAGteach. She received her Bachelor's degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1986. She completed her graduate work at Louisiana State University, where she majored in Child-Clinical Psychology. Dr. Farrar-Schneider received her Master's degree in 1990 and her Ph.D. in 1995, after completing her internship at The Kennedy Krieger Institute at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Farrar-Schneider has published several journal articles. She is also the author of a book chapter on behavior modification to treat noncompliance and aggression in Autism in Children and Adults: Etiology, Assessment, and Intervention, edited by Johnny L. Matson. Dr. Farrar-Schneider has extensive experience in providing behavioral services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Her experiences have included conducting psychological evaluations, developing and implementing behavior programs, training parents and caregivers in behavioral procedures, assessing and treating academic and behavioral difficulties of children, and evaluating and treating feeding disorders. Presently, Dr. Farrar-Schneider's work concentrates on providing early intervention services by evaluating and treating children in the Indiana First Steps program (0-3 years old), conducting assessments for developmental disabilities (e.g., Autistic Disorder, Asperger's Disorder), and providing supervision and training for therapists.
Stephanie Harris, MA, MT-BC, NMT
Director of Music Therapy
Stephanie is a Board Certified Music Therapist. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Ohio University in 2003. Stephanie completed her internship at New Avenues to Independence, Inc., in Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Stephanie earned her board certification (MT-BC) and joined BSI in 2004. She received her Master's degree in Music Therapy in 2008 at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana. Stephanie has also completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) and has experience working with geriatric populations, with a focus on issues associated with dementia. Stephanie directs the Music Therapy Internship Program at BSI. Stephanie is also the treasurer for the Association of Indiana Music Therapy.
Robert Schneider, MBA
Director of Operations
Robert received his Bachelor's degree in 1988 from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. He received his Masters of Business Administration degree in 1992 from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. Robert joined BSI in 2001, after serving as Director of Training for Celebration Station (Whiteco Industries) for seven years.
